If I can toss in my $0.02, if you're going to MacGuyver a particle abrasive grinding wheel, please be very careful and run it at slow speeds (or at least do some safety testing first to make sure that your wheel can handle higher speeds). I'd hate to see what a 22"-36" wheel would do to someone's face if it went kablooie at 3600 rpm.

The races are then tempered when they are inserted into an oven that’s about 300 degrees Fahrenheit. The heating process makes the races tough and hard. After the heat treatment process, the races are put into grinding wheels. Every race is fed into the grinders which leaves a very smooth and accurate surface.
