Walter Abrasives - Walter Sanding Discs are constructed with highest quality fibre backing to withstand the centrifugal forces of high speed sanding. Job matched abrasive grains are applied and imbedded in the resin bond by an electrostatic process to deliver the best cutting edge to the surface for uniform grain coverage and consistent quality finishes.
Unlike the simpler flat disks, made from a circular flat sheet of a coated abrasive, a flapwheel is made of multiple overlapping small pieces or 'flaps', bonded to a central hub.
Grinding. This minimizes vibration and provides maximum operator comfort in even the most demanding grinding applications. Whether you need to do heavy-duty grinding on hard metals or carefully remove welds on a stainless steel surface, Walter has a wide range of grinding abrasives that are right for your job.
I need to invest several hundred in new grinding wheels, my mix matched pile of junk wheels has gotten out of control. So, I need to get grinding discs, cut offs and various grit flap wheels for use on each of: mild steel, stainless and aluminum. ( yes I keep them separated ). Just curious what you guys have had luck with for each of these?
President Jon Littler is guiding the venerable manufacturer of industrial grinders by keeping the machines simple, effective, and tough as nails. "He was in the alfalfa business," says Littler, the late Oberwortmann's great-grandson. "He saw a need to make it easier and more efficient. He built the first one for himself.". The patent on his tub grinder expired in 1969, says Littler, who took over running
Grinding, polishing, and cutting are all essential parts of many projects, which is why Walter Grinding Wheels are available in every size and material you’ll need. Walter Abrasive Products Have a Northern Connection It was in the Montreal suburb of Pointe-Claire that Walter J. Somer first started his J. Walter Company back in 1952.
Walter Abrasives Discs. Coated abrasives can be used for most applications, from grinding to polishing. They consist of a thin layer of abrasive adhered to fiber, paper, cloth or rubber. Coated discs are normally used on angle grinders. More durable than aluminum oxide, zirconia-alumina is best for medium- to heavy-material removal.
Walter Surface Technologies, Walter Abrasives are on the job grinding down welds, deburring, cutting pipes and more. Walter offers a full line of grinding wheels, cut-off wheels, sanding discs, wire brushes and specialty abrasives for general purpose grinding or for specific finishing applications in welding shops and on job sites.
Walter Type 27 high performance depressed center grinding wheel for use on steel and iron. Formulated for safety and high performance in a wide range of metal grinding operations. Made from highest quality abrasive grain with greater hardness and wear resistance, they grind welds down fast and with less effort.
Additional Features: metal grinding wheel is made from Fe-free formula that does not contaminate the stainless steel surface. This wheel is suitable for alloys, cast iron, stainless steel, tungsten, and hard metal Applications: surface finishing wheel can be used for heavy grinding, weld removal, and beveling.
